Council Meeting Reminder
Just a friendly reminder -City of Slater Council Meetings are held monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. - please call the office for the complete list of dates.
Memorial Day Holiday

Slater City Offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.
Big BAM 2017
Begins: 6/14/2017 - 7:30 AM
Ends: 6/14/2017 - 10:30 AM
The Big BAM (Bicycle Across Missouri) route winds through the best rural roads in Missouri combining beautiful sights and small town hospitality. With an average mileage of around 56 per day the route can be challenging but is always rewarding.
The 5 day tour starting June 11, 2017 will be coming through Slater, on June 14, 2017 from approximately 7:30 AM-10:30 AM on 240 Highway.
Slater Chamber will be setting up a stop that morning at the Masonic Lodge Building for all bikers.
Please be CAUTIOUS that morning with an estimated 600 bikes will be traveling 240 Highway.

Total Solar Eclipse of 2017
The Great American Eclipse is coming on August 21, 2017 and the path of totality will cross Slater, MO. Total eclipses aren't particularly rare, but one that has such a long path across a developed country is rare. The Astronomical Society of Kansas City say ten million people are on the path and 100 million are within a few hour's drive. The path of the moons umbral shadow begins in the Northern Pacific and across the USA from west to east through parts of: Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina. With Slater MO being in the direct path.
The Slater Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an Eclipse event at the Slater football field in the park. Concessions, facilities and glasses will all be available.
Warning: To watch a solar eclipse, you will need eye protection.
